Color postcard photo of the Springfield Public Square ca. 1940's. The view is looking west from the Square down College St. Heer's, F. W. Woolworth Co., J. J. Newberry's and National Shirt Shop are identified businesses. The square has been opened to thru traffic and has metered parking.

Christ Episcopal Church, NE corner of Walnut & Kimbrough, angle view of church front. Church is painted white with dark door. No leaves on large tree east of the church. Kentwood Arms Hotel shows in the background. It is the oldest church building in Springfield. On back of photo it says ältar trekked in by ox-cart from St. Louis in 1869. Size 5"x 7". Material: emulsion on paper, black and white.

Leather covered photo album of the Lily Tulip Cup Corporation plant in Springfield, MO containing 51 8x10 black and white photos, beginning with plant construction in Jan., 1951 and ending with a view of the operation in August, 1952. The factory was built at 1100 N. Glenstone Ave., across from the World War II O'Reilly General Hospital. Lily Tulip opened in June of 1952. See accession file for more information.

Copy of Volume V, No. IV of the Old Time Country newsletter published by the University of Mississippi. Much of the newsletter is devoted to the history of the Weaver Brothers and Elviry country music troupe. Folder also contains three letters from W.K. McNeil, Editor of the Ozark Folk Center, Mt. View AR, addressed to Loretta W. Torbett, daughter of Elviry Weaver. Folder also contains one letter from Loretta Torbett to a woman named Mary.

Post card of Cumberland Presbyterian Church ( First Presbyterian Church ) corner view. Olive street runs along the side of the building. North Jefferson Ave. Appears to be unpaved; but there is a street car track switch. Post card was mailed to Miss Alice Archer, Mountain Grove, Mo. Feb. 12, 1908. One cent stamp. Church building was razed in 1929. 3.5 X 5.5 inches. Black ink on white card stock.

2003-69.2
Black and white photo of a mill. Handwritten on the back in pencil it reads, "McCrackin or Ingram Mill about 1880". There is an SMS sticker on the back which reads, "Mr. Warren Clutter, 1651 S. Weaver Ave., Springfield, MO 65807. The photo shows the mill from a different view than that of 2003-69.1. The building is clap board. It is unpainted or badly in need of paint. There are five windows in the "front" of the building. There are also three doors, running vertically down the center. One side of the building has another door and one small window. There is a shed close to the building that has a large smokestack.

2001-757
A wide angle view of the old Frisco freight depot shows the freight office left and the string of 30 bay doors extending 400 ft. to right where teams and wagons and later trucks backed up to load the merchandise that had come in for delivery to Springfield and area businesses. It is hard to imagine that on the evening of Sat. July 27 a party atmosphere prevailed with music and dancing in the vacant, somber building to mark the official opening of the new freight depot considered by some to be finest west of Chicago. The old passenger depot once stood to right of picture as did the more recent passenger station that replaced it.

Black and white photogtaph of First Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri. Brick building with limestone foundation. View of front. Large stained glass window in center with round windows above it in the gable. Entry is at the right under the steeple and appears to have a wrought iron gate across it. Part of the street is paved with bricks and the street car tracks may divide in front of church. A man is walking on sidewalk. Measurements/Size: 3 1/4" x 4 1/4". Material/Color: Emulsion on paper affixed to cardboard, sepia tone. Emulsion peeling off paper. Machine made.

Snapshot of Springfield-Conway marathon runners in the Trans-Continental Foot Race or Bunion Derby on Route 66. They came in from Conway Friday May 25 and Saturday morning. Three pictures were taken at 7:00 am as they started back to Conway. View from Jefferson toward west on St. Louis St. A stoplight is the intersection with a man leaning on it, probably controlling it. It may be a portable light brought there for the occasion. Numbers on back of photo along with the above information: 1-011, p8-272

2003-69.1
Black and white photograph. On the back, handwritten in pencil it reads, "Ingram's Mill built by McCrackin sold to Martin Ingram who sold to White brothers, (another source says the mill was owned by Harry White before in was sold to Ingram and that White was the father of Mrs. Hal Ingram) who moved up near Springfield and have steam mill on Chadwick Branch of Frisco RR. Picture about 1880". There is a Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts sticker on the back which reads, "Mr. Warren Clutter 1651 S. Weaver Ave. Springfield, MO 65807" The picture shows a view of the mill with the waterfall.

Black and white photo of the Springfield Public Square crowded with visitors for the dedication of the Lyon Monument during the 1883 anniversary of the Battle of Wilsons Creek. The monument can be seen in the center right draped in bunting. The view is of the southwest quadrant. Businesses shown are Adams-Bigbee and Caskey Dry Goods and Saddler, Heckart jewelry store, Dry Goods store and eye glasses and book store.

Black and white photo of the south west corner of the public square which gives a view of College Street. Public Square, College Street, Mozark Theatre, National Shirt Shop, S. S. Kresge Co. Vogue and the Kirby Arcade. The Public Square and College Street are paved with paving bricks. The street car tracks are no longer on the square as well as College Street.

Blue and white printed cotton handkerchief with scenes(drawings) from Heers Department Store incl. Ozark Garden Room Main Floor, Women's Lounge,Sportswear Dept.,Fur Salon, outside view, entrance. Titled, Heer's the Dominant Store of the Ozark Empire.Belonged to Nancy Pierce Ellis, a relative of the donor. See 1987-70-2 for related artifacts.

1999-281
Black and white photo, side view of the old livery stable and Springfield Gas and Electric Co. manufactured gas storage tank. There is a base which the tank was fitted into. Along the side of the metal base are stair steps that lead up to a walkway around the base. The sign on one of the storage tanks reads, " Cook with Gas " The cement block building reads " Seaman Coal, Cement and Sand, Phone 579 " On the storage bins are several advertisements that read, " Faultless Starch, Yeast Foam, K C. Baking Powders, and Celuloid Startch" Near these storage bins is a corrigated iron building. The Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks can be seen along the Seaman Coal Company.
